Uptime Kuma alerts on your iPhone

Get a notification when a monitor goes down, and watch that same alert change to Up when it recovers. Uptime Kuma's own Webhook setting.

What you need#

  • Nowlark on your iPhone, and your key from Settings › Connect an App › Create Your Key. Copy it when it is shown, because it is shown once. It starts nlk_.
  • Uptime Kuma 2 with at least one monitor. Its own Webhook notification does the rest.

Add Nowlark to Uptime Kuma#

  1. In Uptime Kuma, open Settings › Notifications and click Set Up Notification.
  2. Set Notification Type to Webhook and Friendly Name to Nowlark.
  3. Paste this as the Post URL:
https://nowlark.com/v1/hooks/uptime-kuma
  1. Leave HTTP Method on POST and set Request Body to Preset - application/json.
  2. Turn on Additional Headers and paste this, with your own key in place of nlk_… and the quotes kept:

  1. Turn on Default enabled so new monitors use it, and tick Apply on all existing monitors.
  2. Click Test. A quiet notification titled "Nowlark Testing" arrives on your iPhone within seconds. Then click Save.

Your key goes in a header, not in the address, so it is not shown wherever Uptime Kuma displays the URL.

What arrives#

In Uptime Kuma On your iPhone
A monitor goes down
"Shop website is Down", at High priority, with the error underneath. Tap it to open the monitored address.
It comes back
The same notification changes to "Shop website is Up". No second alert to clear.
The Test button
A quiet notification, so a test never wakes you.

Each monitor arrives under the source Uptime Kuma. In the app's Sources tab you can give it a colour, and with the Upgrade Pass its own tone.

Want it louder?#

Priority and repeat until opened shows what each level does on the phone. Webhook templates covers the Uptime Kuma template in full, including Pending and Maintenance.
